Our Mission
Community Development
Investing in the people and places that shaped him.
Overview
Mzee Okee did not wait for others to act. When Pader Parish needed a health clinic, he built one, personally. When his community needed a voice in Parliament, he stood for election and won. Community development for him was not a policy position; it was a practice. The Foundation carries that practice forward in Pangira, Lokung, and Lamwo District.
Why It Matters
Northern Uganda continues to recover from decades of conflict and displacement. Healthcare access in remote areas like Lokung and Paloga remains limited. Infrastructure is sparse. The Foundation invests in the community Mzee Okee called home, building on the foundation he laid.
What We Do
Community Health Initiative (Coming Soon)
Continuing Mr. Okee's personal legacy of healthcare access, beginning with Pader Parish where he funded and built a health clinic during his time as MP. The Foundation will support healthcare infrastructure and access in this community.
Infrastructure and Local Partnerships
Working with local leaders, sub-county officials, and community organisations in Lokung Sub-County to identify and address critical development needs. The Foundation prioritises projects with lasting community impact.
Supporting Families in Need
Beyond education, the Foundation looks to support vulnerable families in Pangira and Lokung, the ancestral home of Mzee Okee, in practical and targeted ways as resources allow.
“He self-funded a health clinic for Pader Parish. He did not ask for recognition. He just saw a need and addressed it.”
